Trans Iowa V9 - It's always a fun adventure!

Rollin' to the start from the hotel

 Trippy

 Rasta Homies

Ready to roll

 And we're off!

 Dry roads!

 Vehicle approaching in the darkness

 Moon in the western sky

Humid air leads to dusty coating

 Here comes the sun...

 Beautiful morning!

Rolling into Checkpoint #1 with Paul LaCava

 Dry B roads!  Wow.

Gravel Brethren

Stoked to have ridden in my seventh Trans Iowa.  We had beautiful weather and near perfect road conditions.  Lots of gutsy performances this year.  And that's what makes this event great...raising above and overcoming the seemingly insurmountable obstacles.  And the smiles at the finish are priceless.

I didn't finish this year, but really enjoyed the time I spent out there on the gravel.  Met some great folks and really enjoyed the early morning beauty.  Already looking forward to next year.

Thanks to Mark and all the volunteers.  You folks are the best.  Also thanks to the Cycle Works crew and our support team of Lis and Bruce.  May the Gravel Gods smile upon you!
