Thanks for coming out to the Battle Royale!

135 racers came out for the Psycowpath Battle Royale on Saturday. Kris and the Cycle Works crew did a great job! I appreciate everyone's patience while we compiled the results. Look for complete results with lap times on Nebraska Cycling News or the Psycowpath website.

The weather and trail conditions couldn't have been better for the event yesterday. The rain earlier in the week kept the dust down and provided fast dirt. The course was very similiar to previous Battle Royale events, but the rock garden was cut short and long steep climb at the end of the course was bypassed this year (whew). The flash floods from the Spring rains changed all the lines in "The Gully" and it took a lap or two to find the sweet spot.

Did anyone crash in "The Gully"? I went down pretty hard once after the hitting a rock and having the handlebar fly out of my hands. Glad I had a helmet on! Buried my head into the dirt. Luckily didn't hit a rock.

Again thanks for coming out and congrats to all participants!

I picked a bad line during warm up and crashed in the gully. Luckily I got it right during the race. Great job to everyone putting on the race yesterday. Thanks.

I'm still learning the trails out at Platte...is the long steep climb at the end of the course that you are referring to the one that climbs to the top of the fence-line descent and bypasses the Gully?

Hey Millhouse

Keep on explorin' Platte! It's some of the best mountain biking around Nebraska.

The climb I'm referring to starts after the Gully and before the opening where the start/finish was this year. The climb is just off the last bit of double track before rolling down to the start finish. The climb is at the top part of that double track. It's an old rutted out singletrack climb that gets ridiculously steep at one point. We put branches down in front of the entrance during the Platte race. Hope that helps.
