Pandora's Box

Video of atomic and hydrogen bomb explosions and subsequent damage to houses, buildings, school buses, etc to the music of Sigur Ros's Hljomalind (Emo alternative).

All I can say is, why? Why do we need a weapon like this? Yes, it did help prevent potentially a million lost American lives in WWII, but damn...we used this weapon twice on Japan. How many of these still exist?

Sobering.

The release of atomic energy has not created a new problem. It has merely made more urgent the necessity of solving an existing one.

beautiful disaster.

It's surreal. To think that something that looks so soft from afar, can be so hainessly destructive up close.

Q: How many are there?

A: Too many. http://www.nuclearfiles.org/menu/key-issues/nuclear-weapons/basics/nuclear-stockpiles.htm

South Africa got it right...build it so you can show the world you smart enough to do it and then prove to the world that its smarter not to have them.

That's a lot of nukes. I guess we need to learn not to accidentally place armed nuclear warheads on B-52's. Oopsie!
